The invention relates to a rod insert inside the rod of pole-type disconnectors on poles for rapid opening of pole-type disconnectors by means of an electrical switch drive or a manual drive. The rod insert consists of a tube into whose internal hole a tension rod projects on which a compression spring is seated which is supported on the one hand against an opposing holder on the tube end into which the tension rod is inserted, and on the other hand is supported against an opposing holder on the inserted end of the tension rod. A shock absorber, whose plunger projects into the movement path of the tension rod, is placed on the tension rod, at the end of the tube above the opposing holder. In each case one holder is placed onto the externally located end of the tension rod and onto the shock absorber, in order to connect the rod insert to the rod and to the pole-type disconnector. <IMAGE>
