PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a installation technique of a grounding electrode, which can save processes involved in the conventional method and improve the performance and can cope with both soft soil such as gravel and clay and the soil containing medium or hard rocks by selecting the method according to the grounding condition. SOLUTION: The grounding electrode is composed of a combination of a self-drilling electrode portion 1 which contains a conductive pipe 13 inside a self-drilling hollow rod 12 having a drilling bit at the top end and a desired number of connection electrode portions 3 which contain a conductive pipe 15 inside a connection hollow rod 14 structured to be connectable with the above self-drilling hollow rod 12. These conductive pipes 13, 15 are connected using a connecting member 17 having a liquid flow hole 18. When the installation is performed for a hard soil, water or air is supplied into the drilling bit 2 though the conductive pipes 13, 15 and the flow opening 18, and then discharged outside.
