PURPOSE:To reduce manufacturing cost by press molding a hydrous mixture comprising granular SiC, alumina, mullite, clay and water, naturally drying and burning. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of granular SiC, alumina, mullite and 1-15wt.% Gairome-clay is mixed with 5-15wt.% water and adjusted with 10 meshes sieve to give a hydrous mixture. Then the hydrous mixture is packed into a cavity of a mold, press-molded under <=100kg/cm<2> to give a green molded article. Then the molded article is naturally dried and burnt at 1,200-1400 deg.C. |
