PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit and printer capable of supplying appropriate electric power even when fluctuations in load currents are large.SOLUTION: An AC adapter 3, which supplies a DC current to a load on the basis of an alternating current, includes a power supply circuit having a plurality of voltage drop characteristics of an output voltage with respect to a load current supplied to a thermal printer 4.
