PURPOSE:To provide a refractory material having high chemical corrosion resistance and heat-resistance and effective for preventing the adhesion and deposition of alumina which is a main component of a non-metallic ingredient deposited from molten metal to the inner wall of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The objective refractory material is composed essentially of CaO, SiO2 and B2O3, wherein the molar ratio of CaO:SiO2 is (2-3):1, the weight ratio of the refractory consisting of CaO and SiO2 is 95-99wt.%, that of B2O3 is 1-5wt.% and the sum of CaO, SiO2 and B2O3 in the total refractory is <=95wt.%. It has excellent heat-resistance, digestion resistance and stability of crystal form and is resistant to the transition of crystal form of 2CaO.SiO2, etc., even after repeated heating and cooling cycles. It has sufficiently excellent characteristics as refractory material and excellent functions such as extremely high reactivity at the surface contacting with alumina. It has high crystallinity, high stability of the material and excellent quality and quality stability as a refractory material. Furthermore, it has extremely high reactivity with alumina and is highly effective as a nozzle material to prevent the deposition of alumina. |
