The present invention relates to a home appliance and a method to control the same. A home appliance capable of making an access to a power provider server that stores energy information including electricity fee information or information except for the electricity fee information according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a communication unit to communicate with the power provider server or other home appliances through wire or wirelessly; an application making an access to the power provider server via the communication unit to collect information relevant to energy; a control unit to extract a pattern of the energy information of the power provider server using the application and determine the extracted information; and a memory to store the extracted information from the control unit, wherein the control unit transmits the information stored in the memory to the other home appliances and controls the other home appliances to operate based on the extracted information. |
