Communication terminal with programmable function keys

Each function key of a communication terminal is associated with an optical signalling unit which can be allocated to one or more desired signalling functions via communication terminal input devices. For several signalling functions, one is selected and actively switched. For several function keys, the active signalling functions of all the signalling units are deactivated and a further signalling function is activated. The signalling units are optical. All the function keys are associated with a device for simultaneous selection of all call identification or busy display functions and their activation.
