In a voltage-to-frequency converter of the type in which the input signal E is supplied to an integrating amplifier 22 having a capacitor 25 connected in a feedback path, the capacitor being discharged by a relay-operated switch 24 or an electronic form of switch each time the output V of the amplifier applied to a comparator 27 exceeds a reference voltage V 0 , a resistor 26 is connected in series in the feedback path and has a magnitude such that the voltagefrequency characteristic is substantially linear. In Fig. 2 the solid line 100 represents the operation of an ideal circuit in which the integrator is discharged instantaneously when V=V 0 and dotted line 101 represents the actual waveform without the resistor 26 in which the switch remains closed for a time T3-T1, causing the non-linearity. By correct dimensioning of resistor 26 the dot-dash waveform 103 is produced and the non-linearity corrected. |
