Selective adsorption by pressure variation

Applies to a process for obtaining at least one component from a charge of mixed gases in a certain number of adsorbent beds. Continuous operation is by repeated cycles in which the charge of mixed gases is brought in into successive contact with three beds at high pressure to effect selective adsorption of one component and evacuate a gaseous product minus a first gas; subjecting the bed to desorption by decompression and recompressing the bed at least partially with the gaseous product. Determination of the speed of adsorption of a first bed during the selective operation; derivation continuously and simultaneously of a fraction of the gaseous product evacuated from the first bed; transformation of the adsorption speed into a transmitted signal; regulation of the output of return gas derived by means of the relative adsorption speed signal so that the ratio of adsorption speed to the return flow rate of the gas derived remains constant.
