<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a smoothing capacitor simply and at low cost without adding a means that causes a cost increase, in a power conversion device that converts a DC into an AC. <P>SOLUTION: The power conversion device 10 comprises a chopper circuit 18 in which the pulse width of a chopper switching element 16 is varied to transform an input voltage into a prescribed voltage, the smoothing capacitor 20 which smoothes a boosted voltage, and an inverter circuit 22 which switches arms 32a, 32b, 34a and 34b constituted in a full bridge by a complementary PWM synchronizing with the switching element 16 to convert the DC voltage of the capacitor 20 into an AC voltage. By the complementary PWM, the arms 32a and 32b are turned on, the arms 34a and 34b are turned off, and power supply to the capacitor 20 is stopped when the switching element 16 is turned on, so that a high-frequency ripple current can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
