The present invention provides a display device including: a thin film transistor that is formed on an insulating substrate including a plurality of pixels; a common electrode and a pixel electrode that are formed on the thin film transistor and overlap each other with an insulating layer interposed therebetween; minute spaces that are formed on the common electrode and the pixel electrode and are arranged in a form of a matrix including a plurality of rows and columns; liquid crystal layers that are filled in the minute spaces; a roof layer that is spaced apart from the common electrode and the pixel electrode with the minute spaces interposed therebetween; an injection hole that exposes a portion of the minute spaces formed on the roof layer; and a first valley that is formed between the minute spaces adjacent to each other in a row and a second valley that is formed between the minute spaces adjacent to each other in a column, wherein an optical member is formed on the roof layer situated at a location corresponding to the second valley. According to the present invention, the display device is manufactured using a single substrate so that the weight, the thickness, costs, and manufacturing time of the display device can be reduced. In addition to this, the optical member is included, and thus total reflection of light is prevented so that an orientation defect can be prevented, and a light leakage can be prevented. |
