[Also in Division D1] Novel cyclic urea derivatives of the general Formula (I), in which R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl or the radical -CH 2 CR<SP>5</SP>R<SP>6</SP>CHO, R<SP>2</SP> is hydrogen or alkyl, and R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> are alkyl, are prepared by reacting cyclic urea derivatives of the general Formula (II) in which R<SP>7</SP> is hydrogen or alkyl with an aldehyde having the formula in the presence of a strong acid which does not oxidize under the reaction conditions and at a temperature of 0-120‹ C. The products have textile finishing properties (see Division D1). |
