1,237,476. Pressure gauges. SPARTON CORP. July 22, 1969 [Aug. 19, 1968], No.36909/69 Heading G1C. In a differential pressure fluid gauge the pressure transducer comprises a metal tube 10 in the wall of which is formed flutes 16 and the tube 10 is then twisted, Fig. 5 (not shown) to impart a spiral to the flutes and the arrangement is such that the finished tube 38 is used with a pressure gauge, Fig. 8, the pressure difference between the interior and the exterior of the tube 38 causing the tube 38 to impart a rotary motion to a cap 42 to move a top 50 over a potentiometer coil 54. Fluidpressure is imparted to the interior of the tube, Fig. 8, the exterior of the tube, Fig. 10 (not shown) and both the interior and exterior of the tube Fig. 13 (not shown), if rod passing through the interior of the tube prevents collapse if the tube is subjected to overpressure. The flutes may be spirally formed to prevent subsequent twisting of the tube. |
