<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reading system capable of measuring the temperature of an object product through the use of a bar code. <P>SOLUTION: Both a bar code 2 and a bar 3 for temperature detection made of a material having a known infrared emissivity to temperatures are printed on a bar code label 1, and the bar code label 1 is pasted to the product to be measured. Reflected light from the bar code 2 printed on the bar code label 1 is converted into an electric signal by a CCD image sensor 6 and inputted to a signal processing circuit 9. An electric signal corresponding to the quantity of infrared rays radiated from the bar 3 for temperature detection is outputted by an infrared sensor 8, and the electric signal is inputted to the signal processing circuit 9. On the basis of the input signals, the signal processing circuit 9 creates a code signal corresponding to the bar code 2 and computes the temperature of the product to be measured. Therefore, it is possible to perform noncontact temperature measurement on the product to be measured approximately simultaneously as the reading of the bar code 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
