PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of drain oil and to thereby lower the running cost, by detecting the level of oil in a drain pot in which drain oil is once collected, and actuating an oil pressure control valve in a shaft sealing oil circulating line by applying the output signal of an oil level detector to a differential pressure controller. CONSTITUTION:In case that the amount of drain oil from a shaft sealing section 11 is reduced, the level of oil in a drain pot 18 is lowered. Resultantly, the level of output signal of an oil level detector 19 is also lowered, so that a low-level detector switch 20a is set into operation. By the operation of the detector switch 20a, a selector switch 17 is shifted and a differential pressure controller 15 is actuated by the output signal of the oil level detector 19 to open an oil pressure control valve 14 and to thereby increase the amount of shaft sealing oil supplied from an oil supply passage 12. Thus, the amount of drain oil can be controlled to a proper level. In case that the amount of drain oil is increased, on the other hand, the amount of shaft sealing oil to be supplied is reduced by way of reverse control. By thus controlling the amount of shaft sealing oil, it is enabled to lower the running cost and to prevent burn-out of seal rings. |
