Lubricant for rotary piston engines consists of dicarboxylic acid esters pref. heptadecanedicarboxylic acid esters, in amts of 10-50 vol % pref. 30-40 vol% and one or more "detergent-dispersant" additives (with ash content of at most 0.7% relative to finished product) in amt. of 3-10 vol% and a known solvent raffinate in amt. of 40-85 vol%, wherein the mixing of the components produces reactn. layers which are resistant at a specific load in range of 1.5.-25 kp/mn2 as tested on a friction/attrition apparatus according to W. German patent 1236830.
