<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide prevention of a deterioration in comfortable use of the user by performing adjustment with a reduction in count of adjustment for each disk. <P>SOLUTION: An adjustment value indicating a level of correction with respect to an output of a laser required, depending on characteristics of a disk, is stored in an NVRAM 30 in association with a UID of the disk. When a disk is inserted, a UID set on the disk is read out. It is determined whether or not an adjustment value is stored in the NVRAM 30 in association with the UID thus read out. When it is determined that an adjustment value is already stored in the NVRAM 30 in association with the UID of the inserted disk, the adjustment value already stored is used for correction with respect to an output of a laser when data is recorded onto the currently inserted disk.
