PURPOSE:To limiting intake in the vicinity of a combustion chamber and improve responsiveness by providing an intake passage inside a pair of banks arranged in a V character in a cylinder block, which passage extends in the direction of withdrawing from a crank shaft in a substantially horizontal plane, and is allowed to communicate with an intake port of each combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:An engine main body 1 of an outboard engine has a cylinder block 14 composed of a pair of banks 2a, 2b which are arranged oppositely in a V character, and a cylinder head 15 which determines a combustion chamber 31 in respect to a cylinder 13. An intake passage 37 is formed inside the banks 2a, 2b, which passage 37 is extended in the direction of withdrawing from a crank shaft in a plane communicating with an intake port of each combustion chamber. A pair of intake passages 42, 43 parallelly formed in the plane are connected to the intake passages 37, while throttle valves 47, 28 are rotatably arranged therein. An operation force transmitting lever 52 is connected to a throttle valve shaft 50 extended in a horizontal direction for controlling opening/closing of the valve. |
