A grating opening and closing apparatus is provided to prevent the spread of an offensive odor from a drain to the outside by closing a grating in the fine weather and to drain off rainwater to a drain smoothly by opening a grating automatically in the rainy weather, and to prevent rainwater and waste water from overflowing and flowing backward when a large quantity of rainwater and waste water discharge through a drain in the rainy season or the localized torrential downpour. A grating opening and closing apparatus(10) for closing a grating and preventing the spread of an offensive odor from a drain to the outside in the fine weather comprises a rectangular frame(11) placed right below a grating(1), plural hinge shafts(12) installed to the frame at regular intervals, plural first rotary plates(13) and second rotary plates(14) installed to two sides of each hinge shaft by pairs and rotated on the hinge shaft in the vertical direction, and plural torsion springs(15) inserted and coupled to each hinge shaft to supply elastic force to the first rotary plate and the second rotary plate. The grating opening and closing apparatus is installed on the lower part of the grating to close each opening(11a) of the frame completely by rotating the first and second rotary plates upward with elastic force of the torsion spring, and to be opened automatically by rainwater flowing inward through the grating in the rainy weather to drain off rainwater smoothly. |
