Method for the electrolytic separation of an oil/water emulsion

A method is proposed for the electrolytic separation of an oil/water emulsion, in which the anode and cathode are arranged at a slight distance from each other such that, at a cell voltage of less than 2 volts, a field strength of more than 100 volts per centimeter is achieved, as a result of which the emulsion is broken without the use of special chemical agents and without the electrodes dissolving.
