PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image forming device of a reversal development system and a simultaneous developing and cleaning system while making the best use of the characteristic of an AC electrifying system by controlling the polarity of toner left after transfer on an image carrier to the desired polarity by an electrification control member before an electrification stage, then electrifying the surface of the image carrier to the desired potential. SOLUTION: Before the electrification stage, the polarity of the toner left after transfer on the image carrier 1 is controlled to the desired polarity by the electrification control member 6, and the surface of the image carrier 1 is electrified to the desired potential by an electrifying member 2. The image carrier 1 is electrified by the member 2 on which DC voltage having an AC voltage component is impressed. An electrostatic latent image is made visualizable as a toner image by the reversal development in which the toner electrifying polarity and the image carrier electrifying polarity are the same. Then, the device is provided with a means for controlling the polarity of the toner left on the image carrier 1 after a transfer stage before an image carrier electrifying stage is made the same as the image carrier electrifying polarity. |
