A pneumatic tube system junction comprises a tube section 2 which is pivotally connected to a fixed tube 17 and which is adapted to be moved mechanically first axially out of sealing engagement with one of a pair of fixed tubes 7, 7a then pivoted and finally moved axially into sealing engagement with the other tube. The tube section 2 is moved by a member 1 pivotally mounted about a fixed axis 3 and having a slot 12, engaging a pin 5 on the tube section, and a slot 8, adapted to receive a roller 9 on an arm 10 which is adapted to be rotatably oscillated by an electric motor 11. A spring 6 is provided to urge the section 2 towards the tubes 7, 7a and a roller 13 on the section 2 is adapted to engage in locating slots 14, 14a arranged adjacent the ends of the tubes 7, 7a. Limit switches 15, 15a are adapted to be actuated by an arm 16 on the section 2 to stop the motor 11 at the limits of movement of the section 2. The connection between the section 2 and the fixed tube 17 is such as to allow pivotal and axial movement of the section 2, Figs. 5, 5a (not shown).</p> |
