PURPOSE:To obtain a bright liquid crystal display device little in coloring and small in color difference between a display part and a periphery by optimizing spectrum spread in the birefringence ratio of a phase difference film. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal display device providing with a super twisted liquid crystal cell 3 and the phase difference film 2, when the value nu(identicalDELTAn (450nm)/DELTAn (590nm)) of the spectrum spread of DELTAn of the phase difference film 2 is specified as y, the nu value of a liquid crystal is specified as x, the liquid crystal 3 and the phase difference film 2 are selected so that they are satisfied with the relation of x+0.08>y>(4/3)x-0.36. |
