PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluating method with which uniformity of a charging property of an electrophotographic photoreceptor can be more accurately and correctly grasped.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of evaluating a charging property of an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a charging step and a measuring surface potentials, the method further including the steps of: measuring a distribution 1 that is a distribution of surface potentials immediately after charging in the circumferential direction and generating line direction of the electrophotographic photoreceptor and a distribution 2 that is a distribution of the amount of potential attenuation from immediately after the charging in the circumferential direction and generating line direction of the electrophotographic photoreceptor; and evaluating uniformity of a charging property of the electrophotographic photoreceptor from the distribution 1 and distribution 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
