PURPOSE:To perform an easy start and stabilize the tube voltage of a lamp, by supporting an electrode with an electrode support metal which is formed into a coil shape by a resilient conductive material. CONSTITUTION:When a lamp is started lighting, its tube current is of a fine amount to keep electrode support metals 6 in a state of extension, provide a short distance between electrodes 2a, 2b thus enable the lamp to start at a low tube voltage. When the lamp comes to be a state of normal lighting after being started, its tube current increases to allow the electrode support metals 6 to lengthen the distance between the electrodes 2a, 2b by the electromagnetic force caused by said current. A change of the distance longer between the electrodes 2a, 2b can hold the tube voltage almost at constant. |
