PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image forming device wherein toner is effectively melted by comparatively low energy of a printing head. SOLUTION: An image forming device carries a two-layers structure film 9 carrying toner and blank form by piling them up to an opposed part of a thermal head 7 and a platen. A current is selectively turned on to a heating element 7-1 to melt the toner 11 on the film 9, and a dot image is formed by selectively transferring to the sheet P. Respective heat conductivities λ1, λ2, and λ3 are so set as to increase successively in the order of a base 9a of the film 9, its carrier layer 9b, and the toner 11. Thereby, heat is transmitted by being concentrated in a reference position 7-1a direction from down to up (in sheet P surface direction from the heating element 7-1) more quickly than thermal diffusion in a lateral direction. The toner 11 in the reference position 7-1a direction is quickly melted by comparatively low heat energy, and transferred to the sheet P. |
