PURPOSE:To faithfully perform reproduction of recorded sound fields by so disposing speakers that the difference in the sound pressures produced in the listener's right and left outer ears radiated from respective speakers become more than 12dB in the compass of above 0.3KHz. CONSTITUTION:A man 16 listens to the sounds arrived through propagation lines with his right and left two ears 14, 15 obtaining the feeling of distance from the density ratios between the direct sound energy and indirect sound energy and the feeling of direction from the relative sound pressure fifference, arrive time difference, phase difference and frequency characteristic difference of the sounds arriving at both years, i.e., 12a, 12b. Here, reproduction speakers are so positioned that the difference in the sound pressure produced in the right outer ear of the listener from the right for the listener and the sound pressure produced in the left outer ear becomes more than 12db in the compass of more than 0.3KHz for determing sound image localization. |
