PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dye precursor-containing resin composite particles not substantially containing a solvent and hardly destructed by pressure from the outside and high in the isolation properties from the outside at a time of non- heating and a thermal recording material excellent in pressure resistance, friction resistance, raw preservability and image stability after printing and reduced in blank paper fog. SOLUTION: A soln. prepared by dissolving a dye precursor-containing solute in a solvent comprising a polyvalent isocyanate-containing polymerizable component is emulsified with and dispersed in a hydrophilic protective colloid aq. soln. and the obtained emulsion is subjected to the polymerization of the polymerizable component to prepare composite fine particles and, further, a thermal color forming layer containing the dye precursor-containing resin composite fine particles and a coupling compd. reacting with the dye precursor under heating to develop a color is formed on a support to produce a thermal recording material. The above mentioned solute contains the dye precursor and at least one kind of an org. compd. an m.p. of 40-150 deg.C and a b.p. of 200 deg.C or higher. |
