PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device performing trapping processing and its method, with which an object can seem the nearly same size as actual size, even if there are deviations in print plates. SOLUTION: The device extracts a border Z, of which the trapping processing is performed in the color image to be printed (Fig. 4 (a)), to assign a trapping areas A1, and B1 where the trapping processings should be performed for both sides of this border Z, respectively (Fig. 4 (b)), and also to assign a trap color for the trapped areas A1, and B1, respectively.
