A cooking system and a method for controlling the cooking system are provided to allow a user to conveniently cook foods even if the user has no knowledge about a cooking method. A cooking system includes an RF tag(2) and a cooking device(1). The RF tag stores information about ingredients. The cooking device is equipped with an RF reader(3) to read out the information about the ingredients of the RF tag. The cooking device includes a memory(14), a cooking device controller(11), and a display part(6). The memory stores foods cooked based on the information about the ingredients. The cooking device controller reads out the information of the memory. The display part allows a user to recognize the information about the cooked foods.
