PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of a copied image by intermittently forming the toner image of a standard mark plate in an image forming device provided with a toner recycling means. CONSTITUTION:In the copying machine provided with the toner recycling devices 52 and 53, the latent image of the standard mark plate 22 with reference density which is formed on an image carrier 10 is developed and then the density of the toner image of the plate 22 is detected. By processing the detected information, the replenishment of toner to a developing means 30 is controlled. In such a case, the latent image of the plate 22 is formed every N copies so as to reduce the returning quantity of recycled toner. Thus, the excellent quality of the copied image is stably obtained by the copying machine provided with the toner recycling devices 52 and 53. |
