PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of a recording liquid by connecting atmospheric air with a liquid housing section through a ventilating chamber into which a liquid repellent porous body is charged. CONSTITUTION:When a ventilating chamber 7 is filled with an ink repellent porous member 12 and sealed with a cover 10 from an upper section, the nose opening section 17A of a conical protrusion 17 is pushed so as to bite into the ink repellent porous member 12. Consequently, ink is not permeated into the porous member 12 because the porous member 12 has ink repellent properties even when ink intrudes into the ventilation partition 7 through a communicating hole 19 from the tank 3 side. Even when ink penetrates along the inwall of the ventilating chamber 7, the protruding section 17 is protruded to the inside, the opening section 17A of a vent hole is bored at the nose of the protruding section 17, and the porous member 12 is fast stuck to the opening section 17A so as to bite, thus preventing the leakage of ink to the outside from the vent hole 16. |
