摘要 The present invention relates to a sensor for detecting particulate matter such as soot in a tailpipe. The sensor for detecting particulate matter according to the present invention comprises: an insulating substrate; a detection unit formed on the insulating substrate; and a heater formed to heat the insulating substrate, and detects particulate matter through a change in the resistance value of the detection unit. Herein, the detection unit consists of: a detection pattern which is formed on one side of the insulating substrate and includes a plurality of electroconductive unit grids spaced from each other by a predetermined distance; a first electrode pattern electrically connected to a part of the unit grids; and a second electrode pattern electrically separated from the first electrode pattern and electrically connected to the unit grids which remains without being connected to the first electrode pattern. In addition, the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are connected to the unit grids to allow the adjoining unit grids to be connected with different electrode pattern. The sensor for detecting particulate matter according to the present invention has a plurality of edges in the detection unit, thereby facilitating the attachment and growth of particulate matter. Therefore, the sensor for detecting particulate matter is much more sensitive than the conventional sensor for detecting particulate matter.
