The device is used for measurement of angular displacements in machines with programmatic control, in robotic equipment and for automation of measurement operations and technological processes. It has a high-resolution capacity and small size. It consists of light transmitters, photo receivers, a code disc with layered on it m code paths and a scheme for conversion of signals into a code. The first code path contains a transparent sector as big as 180 degrees. Against it are placed n photo receivers, displaced one toward the other at an angle 360 degrees/2n. The next code paths are formed as transparent and non-transparent sectors, whose size is determined on the dependency<IMAGE>where W(m-1) is the step of division of the front code path. The photo receivers, located against the last code path, are displaced one against the other at an angle Wx(1 + 1/4), where 1 is a positive integer, while Wx is the division step of the last code path. The photo receivers, located against the remaining code paths, are displaced one against the other at an angle Wm(1+1/2nm).
