LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricating oil composition having excellent extreme pressure properties and frictional properties, suitably useful as a lubricating oil for power transmission mechanism especially as a manual or an automatic transmission oil of automobile or a lubricating oil for common lubrication of a tractor and a building machine. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition having excellent extreme pressure properties and frictional properties is obtained by adding 0.01-10.0 mass % based on the total of the composition of a polysulfide compound of formula (1) (R1 and R3 are each a 6-30C alkyl group or alkenyl group; R2 is a 6-30C alkylene group; x and y are each independently 1-15; n is 0-2) to a base oil of lubricating oil.
