<p>A heat storage system for heat pumps, having a storage mass in the form of salt or salt mixture, uses a mixture whose density is greater than that of water when in place in the heat storage device. The melting point of the storage mass is at temp. level lower than that which can be reached with a conventional heat pump. Devices are provided by means of which heat can be transformed to or extracted from the storage as are devices for deliberate prolongation of the exothermic crystallisation of the salt paste to follow preselected programme.</p> |
