1529646 Acyl cyanides BAYER AG 29 March 1977 [2 April 1976] 13153/77 Heading C2C Acyl cyanides of the formula RCOCN, wherein R is an optionally substituted C 1-3 alkyl, C 3-12 cycloalkyl, aryl or 5- or 6-membered heterocyclyl radical, are obtained by reacting carboxylic anhydrides of the formula with compounds of the formula R-X, X being a-OCl, -COF, -OBr, -CCl 3 ,-CF 3 ,-CBr 3 , -CHCL 2 , -CHF 2 or -CHBr 2 , and alkali metal cyanides or anhydrous hydrocyanic acid at between 50‹ and 300‹ C. The carboxylic acid anhydride may be formed in situ from the corresponding alkali metal carboxylate and the carboxylic acid chloride. |
