It consists of a jaw with a lower and middle branch 8 which is fastened to the lower face of the sleeper 1 and with a pair of lateral and articulated branches 7-7', which form the actual jaw, which pass through the sleeper 1 via respective shafts 3-3' and which, at the top, have bent ends 11-11' intended for sliding over the upper face of the flange 5 of the rail 2 when respective wedges 12-12' are inserted in the aforesaid shafts 3-3', tending to close the jaw and giving rise to an elastic deformation thereof, elastic and wedged clamping being achieved, and the aforesaid wedges 12 having ratchet mechanisms which allow their displacement inside the shafts 3 in the direction of penetration but which immobilize them in the event of a tendency to move in the opposite direction. <IMAGE>
