The casing 14 of the pump or other machine part, standing on its supports 16, is mounted on and united with prefabricated concrete beams 18, the under parts of which are set in a concrete bed 56 laid on the concrete foundation 40 and provided with projections, into which joining bolts are cast, fitting into equivalent cavities 46 in the foundation. The bolt joint may comprise a lower bolt 52, rigidly secured in the projections in the bed fitting into the cavities 44, and an upper bolt 60 passing through the base plate or support of the pump, these bolts being screwed into a rod 36 running through the concrete beams 18 so as to allow the whole to be tightened once it is in place. These rods should preferably be peripherally immovable while still remaining displaceable in an axial direction inside the concrete beams, so that as the upper bolts are screwed up to tighten the joint their motion is converted to a tractive force acting on the rods and lower bolts. <IMAGE> |
