Filter device and method of manufacturing the same

A filter device F e.g. for oil, comprises a main body 1 having a cylindrical shape with at least two openings 12 in the sidewall, column portions 17 are situated between the openings with at least one of the column portions having at least one groove 17a on an inner surface 17b thereof. A filter member 2 having a cylindrical shape around an axis of the main body passes though the column portions. Also included is a method of manufacturing said filter device by injection moulding using male (100 figure 7) and female (200 figure 7) moulds in which the filter member is placed and a resin is injected into the mould cavity though a gate opening (202 figure 7).
