<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate searching of a specific program by recording up to information with respect to a program having an index signal in continuity with the index signal and displaying the information onto the screen of a character generator. CONSTITUTION: In all systems provided with an index search function where recording and reproduction of a video signal are attained, a system control microprocessor 10 controls a signal outputted from an index/character signal converter 16 to be converted into character information and the converted character information is outputted in a form of serial data to a character generator 17 and the data are displayed on a screen. Thus, in the high speed tape moving mode, every time an index signal is detected, reproduction is made for about 5sec, tape position information is displayed in a form of a tape progress time and character display as to a title of a program or the like is attained. Thus, in the case of searching a specific program, the searching is easily carried out.</p> |
