Proximity location and identification system in a golf course

The system has miniature and autonomous passive transponders (50-100) e.g. passive radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders, memorizing an identifier placed on player on golf course to locate and identify the player. Fixed terminals (10-30) e.g. fixed or controllable camera, has a wireless interrogation circuit i.e. RFID interrogation circuit, to receive the identifier. A wireless communication unit provides wireless communication between each terminal and a central server (40) to transmit the identifier received by the circuit from each terminal towards the server. INDUSTRIAL STANDARDS - The interrogation circuit and the transponders conform to UHF electronic product (EPC) Gen2.
