<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately decide a rewriting lifetime of a flash memory by detecting whether the memory arrives at the rewriting lifetime or not based on its erasing time. SOLUTION: When a receiver 5 receives a write command of data from a host computer 10, data is erased from a sector 22 of a flash memory 2 by a write command of the data. An erasing time measuring unit 3 measures a time required for erasing the memory 2, and an MPU 1 decides the rewriting lifetime of the memory 2 based on the measured erasing time. For example, if the measured erasing time exceeds a predetermined time, it is judged that the lifetime is reached. After it is judged that the lifetime is reached, if the receiver 5 receives new data writing instruction, an alarm generator 4 informs the effect by using, for example, an LED or the like.</p> |
