PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety belt catching/holding device, wherein safety is secured and smooth movement is attained by making pulling force from an operator side act properly in spite of a simple structure to keep movement along a master rope over an intermediate supporting part while engagement with the master rope is kept. SOLUTION: A movable connection part 30 connected to the safety belt is constituted so that its rotation is partially restricted with respect to a main body part 10. When reaching a supporting place by the intermediate supporting body 90 of the master rope 80 in a using state, the movable connection part 30 receiving the pulling force from the operator is allowed to regulate its relative rotation of an angle equal to or larger than a prescribed angle with respect to the main body part 10 and the movable connection part 30 and the main body part 10 tilt integrally. Thus, a process of a hook other than the hook 20 hooked to the master rope 80 being hooked to the master rope and a process of the hook 20 hooked to the master rope 80 from the beginning being detached from the master rope 80 are succeeded smoothly. Thus, the engagement place is replaced over the intermediate supporting body 90 while securing the engagement state of the hook to the master rope 80, and it is possible to move smoothly along the master rope 80.
