An embodiment of the present invention relates to an iris recognition camera system and an iris recognition method using the same. The iris recognition camera system comprises: a photographing unit for generating a plurality of iris images; an image processing unit for extracting an image information analysis value on the iris images obtained by the photographing unit; an image converting unit for generating a high resolution iris image from the iris images corresponding to the image information analysis value extracted by the image processing unit; and an image outputting unit for outputting the high resolution iris image generated in the image converting unit. The user can easily use the iris recognition method since an iris recognizable distance can be extended by obtaining the high resolution iris image.
