<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely shut off through-current only when determining on failure of an FET in an H bridge circuit 18 and shorten a PWM control stop period to the utmost, in a controller for electric power steering device including a torque sensor 9, an assist motor 10, and a control unit 13 for driving the motor by the H bridge circuit 18 of a feedback system according to steering torque. <P>SOLUTION: A power source relay 13b is inserted in a cable way connecting the H bridge circuit 18 and a battery 14, and a relay 18e is inserted, for example, in an upper part of a left driving circuit and a relay 18f in an lower part thereof, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
