<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with a backlight capable of eliminating luminance irregularities and preventing the decline of an yield due to glass chipping or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The side part end faces 10e and 10f of the upper glass 10a and lower glass 10b of a liquid crystal display panel 10 are constituted of mirror finished surfaces. When the side part end faces 10e and 10f are constituted of the mirror finished surfaces, the coarse recesses and projections of the side part end faces generated at the time of cutting are eliminated and light from a light emitting element 12 is not irregularly reflected. Thus, light accumulation by irregular reflection is not generated on the side part end faces 10e and 10f. Also, by turning the side part end faces 10e and 10f to the mirror finished surfaces, impact resistance is improved and the yield is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
