PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a link layer protocol revision system and method that can completely apply dynamic alteration to a link layer protocol attended with diversified network forms. SOLUTION: The link layer protocol revision system for a line terminator that recognizes the link layer protocol mutually used between a data terminal 10 making a connection request to networks 40A-40G and a subscriber switch 30 is provided with a link layer protocol type notice section 20A that informs of type information of the link layer protocol terminated by a subscriber line terminator 20 included in physical layer protocol control information and a link layer protocol alteration section 300A that identifies the type information of the link layer protocol from the physical layer protocol control information terminated by a switch line terminator 300 and sets a terminating circuit to terminate the altered link layer protocol when detecting the alteration.
