PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can prevent an excessive increase in temperature of end areas of a heating roller with a simple configuration, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device 5 comprises a heating roller 32 that is heated by a heater lamp 36 and a pressure roller 34 that is in pressure contact therewith, and passes a recording material P with an unfixed toner image through a fixing nip part 35 between the heating roller 32 and pressure roller 34 to fix the toner image to the recording material. The heater lamp 36 includes a filament 71 that generates heat by energization, and a short cut path that electrically connects branch points 74a and 74b on a conductor path for energizing the filament 71 and contact points 76a and 76b in the middle of the filament 71. At least a part of the shortcut path is formed of Slater insulating bodies 751a and 751b that function as a conductor only at a temperature higher than a predetermined temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
