The method involves mirroring two sequential images at the edges, where the body being imaged leaves the image, to form two mirror images. The first image, the mirror image of the second image, together with the second image and the mirror image of the first image are joined to each other at the edge of the image, to form two new images which represent a good approximation of the body, which is now contained entirely within the new images. Motion parameters for sequential images of the body are determined from the new images using a motion correction technique. The first two images are corrected accordingly.
